Today’s game against St Georges Basin Dragons (Red) proved to be the most difficult and challenging game to date against a well-structured opposition.
The game began with a handful of chances with the opening goal to Sebastian on the back of good lead up play from both Saxon and Raff. The remainder of the first half was an arm wrestle with desperate defending from the likes of Mason, Milo, Lachlan and Xavier whilst the front three always looked dangerous on the counter attack. Just before half time a great through ball from Milo set Ryan to goals who calmly scored past the keeper to make it 2 - nil at half time.
The second half began like the first with Milton dominating possession and after a good passage of ball movement Sebastian was able to score from distance to make it 3 - nil. Milton displayed great character in defence and showed how difficult they are to breakdown, which included a great one handed save from Milo to prevent St Georges Basin getting on the scoreboard. Late in the game and from a corner the hard working Jack was quickest to pounce to a loose ball to make it 4 - nil, which was the final score.
The boys have to be commended today for the character and attitude they had in defence. They showed resilience and fight to ensure that they don’t concede, it was a great team victory. They have developed throughout the year and credit to Jon and the coaching staff for their hard work as well as commitment.
