Information for Players

 Equipment:

All players will need to supply football boots, shin pads, long white socks (able to cover shin pads) and black shorts. These can be purchased through Sports Power Ulladulla.

The club also runs a ‘boot bin’ for pre-loved boots and shin pads, and all new and returning players are welcome to check here first in case items of the right size are available. Use of the boot bin is 100% free of charge.

Playing shirts and training equipment (bibs, balls, etc) are supplied by the club.

Additional items such as club Polo’s, Hoodies, and many other items are available for purchase through the Panthers Shop.

Mini Roos:

Miniroos (U5 - U7) play a 4 v 4 game (with subs) on a 20m x 40m field, with no goalkeepers. The minimum age to play Mini Roos is 4, however players must be turning 5 years old in this calendar year in order to be eligible.

While we understand that the children may have friends who are also registering to play, we are unable to guarantee your children will be able to be placed in the same team as their current friends. Fortunately, football and team sports in general provide a great opportunity for all players to make new friends and develop valuable social skills as well as having a great time playing.

To support the children, each team must have a designated Game Manager and Team Manager who’s role it will be to help guide the children on the field, manage substitutions, and ensure communication reaches the other parents and carers in their team. These are not difficult or time consuming roles, and do not need any previous coaching or football experience. The focus of these roles is to ensure the kids have fun, and that the games can flow with all players getting an equal amount of time on the field.

More information about Mini Roos, including teams and draws can be found on our dedicated Mini Roos page.

Primary Girls:

If you are registering your daughter to play in the Primary Girls program, please ensure you register via the Primary Girls registration package that is available within PlayFootball2.0. Refer to our Registration page for more information. If you have registered incorrectly (e.g. as an 9 year old player rather directly into the Primary Girls program, please email the club immediately at admin@mufc.net.au stating her name and her wish to join this squad. Primary girls is focused on girls turning 8, 9 or 10 this year. Note that there is also the option to play competition football in the new U10 Girls age group this year.

Juniors:

Players will be placed within the logical playing groups for their age. If you wish for your child to be considered to play up and age group, please include this information at the time of registering and/or email the club as early as possible at admin@mufc.net.au.

Female players aged 11 and 12 will be automatically placed into the U12 Girls team. If they would prefer to play in the U11 mixed competition, please email the club as early as possible at admin@mufc.net.au.

Players who are born in 2009 have the option to play in the Senior Men’s or Senior Women’s competitions if preferred to playing in the U16’s. If playing in the U16 competition, these players can seek opportunities help the senior sides if player numbers are low in any given week.

Seniors:

As a community club we make every effort to accomodate all players regardless of ability. Places in Senior teams are still limited however, and in some instances a more competitive selection process is required in order to finalise a senior squad.

For example, let’s assume the senior mens squad (1st, Res, 3rds) can accomodate 50 players in any given year. If all of these players wish to play again the following year, but in that year there are also 5 players looking to move up from U16s, and another 6 players who are new to the club or wishing to rejoin, it is not possible to reasonably accommodate 61 players for only 3 teams. If attempted, this would result in a large number of players being ‘rested’ each week, thereby limiting their playing time and not allowing us as a club to provide the opportunity they sought when registering. In this example the Senior Coaches would need to apply a selection process and reduce the 61 players back down to a squad of 50.

In some instances players may be able to be accommodated in other senior teams such as the Over 35’s or Over 45’s, however these teams will also have maximum player limits to consider.

All players wishing to play in a Senior team are encouraged to contact the respective Senior Team Coaches and to attend a few pre-season training sessions prior to registering to ensure they are comfortable with the week-to-week selection process which will be followed. Please contact coaching@mufc.net.au for more information.

Teams we expect to nominate in the 2025 season are as follows:
