U12 Black Round 3 Match Report

With a 9am start at Sussex the under 12 Girls Black arrived early and were pumped for the game on a beautiful day. School holidays had again left us short of players so Skye came up from the Primary Girls to complete the team. Thanks to Skye for filling in admirably- running, defending and attacking all day despite a considerable height difference with some of the opposition. We may call on your services again!

We started with a few positional changes this week. It took a little time to settle in to the formation and we went down a goal early to a good strike. The girls fought hard in an even contest and were unlucky not to have evened the score when half time was blown. Sophie martialled the defence and was again our rock. Claire and Kaitlyn cleared well, while the midfield of Paige, Skye and Grace were getting into the game with some great runs forward and moves back in defence.

The second half started off much the same as the first, with two evenly matched teams playing good football. Lily in goals kept the Panthers in the game with some nice saves. A sensational left foot strike from Ellie that nestled into the top right corner gave the team an extra spark. The team pushed for the winning goal and Emily managed it by popping the ball into the left corner of the goal with only a few minutes to go. A deserved 2-1 win for the Panthers against a competitive Sussex team.
