U12 Black Round 1 Match Report

Nerves were high on Saturday as the MUFC Under 12 girls Black team arrived at Huskisson for their first ever match together.
With limited training but loads of enthusiasm the girls hit the field ready to face the Huskisson White team.
The games was evenly matched in the first half with the play going from end to end. Milton’s defence was solid with captain Sophie leading from the back. Claire and Grace were awesome, with very few balls getting past them. Tilly, Paige and Freya worked hard in the midfield- running hard and showing great skill. Emily and Frankie played well up front and showed they are a force to be reckoned with. Lily was clam and collected in goals. Her confidence in goals put her team at ease throughout the game.
After a close first half Milton finally found the back of the net with a great goal by Frankie on debut. This was followed by a second goal from Paige shortly after. Milton’s defence held strong and kept Huskisson out despite some serious attempts.
It was a wonderful team effort from all the girls. They demonstrated improving skills and all were fantastic sports! It was a game they should all be proud of. A huge thank you to James Martell for stepping in to coach the game and Jodie Donnelly for her organisation on the day.
The team now looks forward to taking on Culburra at home on Saturday.
