Volunteer Success

As we approach our final BBQ for the season, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Nadine Praja for her outstanding work in coordinating the re-establishment of our weekly BBQs. Thanks to her efforts and the generous sponsorships from On Point Home Loans, Shoalhaven Hotwater & Elements, and Coles, we raised over $3,500, which will go towards new jerseys for next season, as our current ones are now three years old.

The weekly BBQ had struggled in past years due to a lack of volunteer support, but this year, Nadine’s coordination and the introduction of a team roster made it possible. It truly ran like a well-oiled machine when teams stepped up and did their part. Thank you to the teams that did their bit, it was a massive contributor to the BBQ success.

Our club operates entirely on volunteer support—everything from cleaning the clubhouse, shopping for and running the canteen, marking and repairing fields, reorganising equipment sheds, to setting up fields multiple times a week. The list is endless, and we deeply appreciate every bit of help we receive.

Unlike some other sports, we rely on the support of players' parents and senior players to assist in keeping our community club thriving. We are now the largest football club between Wollongong and the Victorian border, and with that comes growing expectations for the services and support we provide.

While we always appreciate the thank yous, what truly makes a difference is hearing, "I'll take on this job," or "We'll help with that." Next season, we will be implementing duty rosters more widely, as we simply can't continue without your support.

For that reason, we will be calling upon volunteers shortly to help with the upcoming Mini, Junior and Senior Summer Soccer seasons. Your involvement could be the key to whether or not we can host a summer program. Keep an eye out for the post early next week.
