It’s official, registrations for the 2021 season are now open! We have kept our early bird special running be sure not to miss out on this discount and register before the 15th of February. We also accept Active Kids Vouchers and so don’t forget to utilise this when registering to save some dollars.
There are some changes for the year so please have a read as some may affect you and/or your family.
The boys competitions have had a change up. The age groups this year that play on a full field are U12 (born 2009), U14 (born 2008 and 2007) and U16 (born 2006 and 2005). The U12 will be played on a Saturday morning where as the U14 and U16 teams will play Wednesday nights.
Players turning 16 are eligible to play in the senior teams (Men and Women) if they so wish but will need to let the club know through email. That said, we encourage players to play at their age group with their peers as they can always play for both U16 and the senior teams.
The U12 girls will now be played on a full field with a squad of 16 rather then the smaller field and numbers.
The U12 and U14 girls will play on a Saturday morning where the U16 girls will play on a Wednesday night.
The U11, U10 and U9 competitions are mixed, but if girls do not wish to play in these teams there are other options listed below, just please email the club which option suits your daughter so that we can slot her in the right place.
Girls turning 11 may play in the mixed U11 team or in the U12 girls
Girls turning 9 or 10 may play in the mixed team or join the Primary Girls (more information to come)
The Primary Girls is a non-competition squad run by our life member Gwen Johnson. The aim of this squad is to allow girls the chance to learn the fundamentals of the game in a supportive and fun manner. This group trains weekly and the plays a game on a Saturday morning against each other. This is perfect for beginners and for those who are not comfortable or confident enough to join the mixed, competitive teams.
The U9 and U10 teams will play in a Southern Competition so will only play teams in the southern part of our association (for example Basin and Huskisson).
The Mini Roo’s (U5 to U8) have a shorter more intensive season and so will be starting later in the year. Training for the U8 and U7 teams will start earlier but more information and a confirmation of dates will come in the coming weeks.
Our senior teams (Women, Men and Over 35’s) have already started training which is listed below. We welcome all new and returning players as we prepare for the season ahead.
Senior Men and Over 35’s training Tuesday and Thursday nights from 5:45 to 8:00 pm
Senior Women training Monday and Wednesday nights from 5:45 to 7:30 pm
Training for junior teams will be announced shortly as we appoint coaches and gain registrations. Grading days will also be posted in the coming days for age groups with multiple teams. Please note you must be registered in order to participate in these days so it is in your best interest to register asap. Please note that it is club policy to grade teams that play in the same grade equally. We do our best to ensure this is the case. Teams are graded A and B when there is an A and B competition in that age group. The association has not released which age groups will have this grading but we will inform those that it effects as soon as we can.
If you have any questions at all please feel free to contact us on admin@mufc.net.au or contact our Facebook page as we are more then happy to help you.
Bring on the 2021 season!! #theyearofthepanther
