U9 Grey Match Report 15.05.21

Well done by the whole team to record a 9 to 0 result against Basin white. Our goalkeepers Khy and Gus were not troubled which meant that our team defended very well from the front to the back. Goals today Gus 3, Khy 2, Toby 1, Isobel 1, Eli 1 and Eli set up 4 others with his excellent passes, and Jake 1 and into the bargain he didn't get injured☺.

Special mention to Hunter and George in defence with both having their best games. Well done everyone!!!!

Round 6 Match Report v's Husky Blue Team ....
11-1 Victory

A “team” of strikers today!! What legends our kids are!

It was so special to be apart of the post goal celebrations as nearly all the kids had their time to celebrate a goal of their own!! It was a beautiful display of Unselfish Teamwork which enabled all the kids to feel a sense of pride and achievement and even though Lincoln didn’t score today his continued effort & determination shone through! We won’t stop until you get one Linc!!
Congratulations to our Kids, keep up the amazing effort!

U9 Grey Match Report 1.05.21

An end to end game saw us lose 4 to 3 to Shoalhaven with 2 goals from Gus, one from Eli and plenty of chances for more. A big thank-you to Natalie who played the whole game in goal and made a number of good saves. We certainly tried hard and we will continue to get better as we pass and kick the ball more consistently. Special mention to Gus, Toby, Hunter and Jake and to Khy who never stopped running and to Eli, Isobel, Eligh and George for good team effort.

U9 Black Match Report 1.05.21

A great victory for our Black Panthers showing dominance from the get go.

It was great to see the kids trying out some set plays that we practised at training & nearly paying off. You can really see the kids starting to think about what they are doing rather than kicking the ball first time. It's great progress.

Tama was a stand out in today's match showing that enthusiasm and consistent effort pays off resulting in his first goal of the season.

Zac & Jordy didn't have too much to do today up the back however when they did, they held strong and not much got past them.

Excellent running of the ball through the middle from Elijah & Logan today. Timmy directed traffic from the centre and gave his forwards plenty of opportunities with his through balls. Some great shots and crosses from our winger Taj today who was a force in attack.

Harry scored some nice goals with a cracker from his left foot & Lochie saved a great goal in the first half as goalie then scored a ripper in the 2nd half to see the Black Panthers bag a 6 nil victory!!

Another solid team effort on our first away game. We also thoroughly enjoyed a post game team lunch together!!

Well done Kids ⚽️⚽️⚽️

Primary Girls Match Report 1.05.21

Last Saturday saw brilliant conditions at Lighthouse Oval for the third game of the season for the Primary girls and the first day for the MiniRoos. How great it is to see so many playing for the club. It is a record season and a credit to all!

Twenty-six players made up the Reds and Blues and the girls entertained their crowd of supporters who we are so pleased to have this season after 2020's difficulties.

Each team of seven played a forward line, a back line and a goalie and the first match saw both teams passing well and demonstrating improved positional play. At the change over of teams, the younger girls eagerly took up their spots and referee Finn Louth blew the whistle for the second game. Those playing forwards were consistent in attack while defenders were definitely more confident than in previous games.

Another changeover and it was evident the Reds were in more control with them scoring not once but twice, putting them in the lead 2-0. With the next games, the Blues valiantly played on, having some shots but no luck. Finally, with just a few minutes left, success came and the Blues equalised the score right on the whistle. Cheers all round with a 2 all draw and proof that 'We should never give up!'

The girls gathered for their '2021 - Girls' soccer is fun, fun, fun!' and cheers for the referee. Thanks Finn and thanks also to those who get the fields ready each week.

Red team were Zoe, Olive T, Laila, Olive L, Indy, Josette, Bella, Lena, Aurelia, Amelia, Aanya, Mattilda, Iluka and Olivia.

Blue team were Ivy, Grace, Kate, Pearl P, Pearl PD, Elouera, Chelsea, Shye, Georgie, Milla, Charli and Lorelai.

All girls are commended on their enthusiastic approach to play.

Remember training is on Friday 4:00 - 5:00 for those who can make it. Club person Luke will be there. There is no training if it is raining. Please be at the field by 8:15 Saturday morning so team shirts can be organised.

Saying for the week: Go after your goals!

This week's Blast from the past - 'What year was that?'

U14 Girls Match Report 26.04.21

On Monday night the U14 Girls came up against Sussex Inlet in the late game. Some solid performances of late meant the girls were excited for a good game against many of their school friends.

We started well with Saige again being a handful down the right and through the middle and was unlucky to not have us ahead early. Paige put on some great passes to open up their defence but Sussex held firm. Sophie was our cleaning up machine, snuffing out any hint of their attack. Elsie ran herself into the ground, as did Kaitlyn K. Unfortunately we went a goal down about 10 minutes before half time with an unlucky deflection that kept their striker on side. She finished well, low to the right.

In the second half we pressed hard but to no avail. The defence of Lily B, Chelsea ( despite hobbling), Claire and Grace kept any Sussex attacks out, and Lily T was very solid in goal with no errors all game. Emily, Elle and Sienna continued to run and press despite the solid efforts of the Sussex defence. It is only a matter of time before we crack a defence open!

In all it finished 1-0 to Sussex Inlet. However, at the rate our girls are improving each week Sussex will have their work cut out for them next time around!

Big thank you to Grace for stepping in to help give the girls a rest! You are always an asset and we love watching you step up!

U12 Mixed Black Match Report 24.04.21

Under 12 Mixed Black Match Report from Saturday 24th April

Our home game began with a flying start with a goal to us in the first few minutes. The opposing team displayed some great defence throughout the game. Some quick foot work and attack by our players saw the score 3-0 at half time. Our kids showed a fantastic job defending our goals in the second half. But our attack and defence gave us the win in the end 6-0 Great game for both teams and encouragement from the side line saw both teams try there hardest. Great work Archie hope your injury is healing.

U14 Girls Match Report 24.04.21

Today we faced the leading team in our comp and my word did the girls play their hearts out!

The match started on a positive note with us having most of the pressure up in the opposing area. Here we scored our first goal of the season courtesy of Lily T. Unfortunately the lead did not hold long with Basin having a runaway counter attack and finishing with a great goal.

Throughout the game Saige was playing fantastic, putting in crosses that could have easily ended up in with a finish into the goal. The opportunities she was creating were brilliant and for reward she finally put one in herself in the second half.

The game ended 2-5 but the score line did not reflect how the girls played. We had chances we missed and Basin seemed to finish every chance they got. We can’t deny they were a classy team with a superstar in their side, but the Milton girls held their own and played a great, well fought game.

Elsie has been put in a position she is not comfortable in with little complaints, and is playing beautifully. Her passing during the game was perfect. Lily T, Sienna and Emily had a great game too following in on the crosses that came in and making it back in defence. Claire, Sophie, Elle and Kaitlyn were solid in defence even when facing the best attackers we have come across yet. Paige is finding her feet more and more each game she plays and although she may not have the pace of Saige, the pressure she puts on the defenders was evitable forcing them to make mistakes constantly and allowing us to counter. Kate may be the smallest on the field, but her effort is always enormous. Lily B had a tough job and honestly 4 of the goals that went into her net were class, there was no way she could of saved them. She did however keep the score from creeping higher and kept giving her all, which is exactly what we ask from any keeper.

We were missing Ivy, Hayley and Chelsea and we are eager for their return!

The improvement from our first game is evident each game we rack up and I am very proud of how the girls are travelling and although we are yet to win a game. I believe they can get one across the line very, very shortly. As long as the girls keep going the way they are, trust each other and trust Nigel and myself, they will be a force come the next round of matches, if not sooner.

Bring on the local derby on Monday!

Primary Girls Match Report 24.04.2021

Second match of the 2021 season and twenty-five girls were early at Lighhouse Oval for the first game of the day. The girls donned their shirts and formed the Reds and the Blues. The match was played as a series of eight minute sessions and was capably refereed by Finn Louth. The beginning match saw the girls who had previous soccer experience play a closely fought game with neither side giving the opposition much room to score. It was pleasing to see more passing and good positional play. The whistle blew and the rest of team Red and team Blue eagerly took their positions and play restarted. The game continued and all girls had time playing in the forward line and the defensive back line. While the final score was Reds 3 Blues 1,

the match was fairly even in attempts at goal. Girls who took turns as goalies did great work, saving quite a number of shots. As players gain more confidence and skills, there will be less crowding and more passing with better teamwork. Early days so far but spectators are already seeing improved play.

When girls were asked what each did well, the following was noted.

Ivy, Pearl P D, Evie, Mattilda, Olive L, Chelsea and Matilda were happy with their kicking and Olivia was pleased with her left foot kicks. Zoe did wide kicks in defence, while both Shye and Aurelia moved closer to the ball to do defensive kicks. Kate was happy with dribbling and Josette and Indy were pleased with their work all round. Those pleased with their attacking skills, were Grace, Sari and Bella. Elouera identified her effective passing. Those happy with defence were Pearl P, Georgie and Amelia. Iluka, Aanya, Charli and Milla were consistent in both defence and attack. There were some very good runs down the wings which made the coach happy. Next week girls will focus on what skills they need to work on.

Gwen has some lost property .. water bottles etc so see her at training on Friday 4:00 - 5:00. Thanks to the shirt washers and helpers. Thanks also to club officials who put up the nets for us.

SAYING for the week: Soccer is like life - you have to have goals!

Here is another blast from the past!

U9 Grey Match Report 24.04.21

WOW!!!!Our first game for a while and what a positive performance by everyone who played with the final score 12 to us and 2 to Husky.

I was mightily pleased with the way we passed the ball, switched positions back and forth between attack and defence and it was great to see a very good team effort with everyone contributing positively.

Goals today were Gus 2 and whose unselfish passing made many goals for his team : Jake 2 both scored from very acute angles; Eli 4 who showed good close control; Eligh 3 acting as a great link between attack and defence and Isobel who scored 1 after a fine first half effort in goal. Toby, Hunter and Nicky were solid in defence and showed improved passing and Natalie kept a clean sheet in the 2nd half. Well done team!!!!

V's White Panthers
1-1 Draw.

What a tough defensive team display from our fellow Panther team. They made it very hard to break through with some great goal keeping and very strong defence.

What a beautiful display of support from the sideline when Harry mistakenly let an own goal in! That type of encouragement enabled redemption & I was so proud of our sportsmanship. 🙏🏼⚽️

Our boys played a strong game even under the constant pressure from the opposition.

What a totally exciting close game!! A great effort played by ALL!!

4 nil victory!!

For our 2nd game together Coach Greg & I were thrilled at the progress of the Black Panthers!!

They held their positions beautifully & are starting to pass the ball & are learning where they need to be to receive the ball.

Some outstanding work in the midfield by Lochie & 4 awesome goals shared by Harry, Taj & Lochie as a result of fantastic team work & passing!!

Logan didn't give the opposition much chance with his heckling, Zac & Jordy once again remained strong in defence and Timmy was a work horse!!

Top effort kids!! ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️

U9 White Match Report 17.04.21

Primary Girls Match Report 17.04.2021

Primary Girls are back for the 2021 season, continuing tradition, making it the twenty-eighth year of play for the Milton Ulladulla Football Club. Twenty of the registered thirty girls were at the Lighthouse Oval, early for their first game of the season. Looking smart in their new club shirts, the girls ran onto the field eager and ready to get into action.

The referee blew the whistle and the Blues were into consistent attack but the Red goalie was proficient and kept the ball out. After ten minutes the Reds found their feet and made their presence felt, only to have their attempts at goal thwarted by the Blue goalie. At the first break, score was nil all.

After switching positions, both teams continued to show more confidence. Play see-sawed and the new goalies were effective in keeping the goals safe. Both teams had a number of shots, some of which were very unlucky. Once again, at the break, the positions were changed and both teams tried their best to score but it was not to be, with the final result being a fitting 0-0, thanks to the last goalies keeping up the good work.

Future focus: 'Getting the bees to buzz out wider'!

Reds were: Olivia, Mattilda, Pearl, Indigo, Olive T, Sari, Georgie, Pearl P, Aanya and Olive L.

Blues were: Charli, Amelia, Chelsea, Laila, Zoe, Aurelia, Kate, Elouera, Matilda and Shye.

A big thank you to our referee and to the 'early birds' who put our nets up. Thanks also to the girls' supporters. 2021 is the season for fun, fun, fun!

Remember training is on Friday, 4:00 - 5:00. Always check the club website for any info.

U9 Black Match Report 27.03.21

U9 black and Grey Panthers went head to head today & Wow what a local Darby to start of the season for these talented U9 soccer stars!!

It was a very close match with some great passing and team work shown from both the Grey & Black Panthers!!
It was a nice left foot goal by Lochie from the Black Panthers with Gus from the Grey Panthers narrowly missing as his cracker of a shot skimmed the top cross bar!!
It’s very exciting to see such great sportsmanship & ability being shown this early in the season. Well done to both teams, a wonderful performance by all. A special thanks to the Black Panthers coach Greg for stepping in as the Referee for today's match.

U9 Grey Match Report 27.03.21

A big thank you to all the mums and dads who came along to support and for Greg who refereed.

The game was very competitive with the well drilled black team passing and attacking throughout but stout defending and a positive team spirit by The Grey team kept the game scoreless at half time. A more even second half saw chances at both ends of the field with the black team netting the winning goal late in the match. A special mention for the return of Toby Dowling after a long absence with a broken arm. Our last training before the school holidays will be this Wednesday.

Primary Girls Final Week

The Primary girls finished off the 2020 season with their final game played on the bottom oval last Saturday morning.  A 2 all draw was a fitting result for the girls and they came off the park, eager to receive their well deserved awards.

Well done to Aanya, Abby, Alana, Amelia, Anahera, Aurelia, Charli, Evie, Georgie, Iluka, Jasmine, Jaya, Matilda, Milla, Olivia, Penny, Rosie and Skye for their wonderful attitudes and efforts this season. Improvement in skills and teamwork was excellent and the manner in which the girls approached their training and games was to be commended. The girls wish to thank the club officials for all their hard work in getting the season underway and preparing the fields and equipment each week. Some girls will move into competitive teams next season and they are wished the best. Others will play Primary girls again in 2021, hopefully with new girls joining the group.

Primary Girls Match Report 12/09/2020

The second last game of the season for the Primary girls resulted in a closely contested match with the Reds keen to even the score from the previous win by Blues. Despite being one player down, the Blues were valiant in their efforts to prevent the Reds from victory. The game started with both teams applying pressure, making runs and having shots at the nets. Milla and Rosie were strong as goalies and the score remained at nil all at half time.

After a break and hydration, the teams swapped ends and positions and play resumed in a hectic fashion. The Reds were rewarded with a goal but Blues retaliated and evened the score, 1 all.

The next goal was the result of a great run by Amelia, through the Blue pack to score making the Reds lead 2-1. Abby, playing across the midfield, was straight into action and confidently was able to position herself for a good shot which found the back of the net, evening the score again, 2-2.

With only minutes remaining, both teams fought hard and it was the Blues who were successful in scoring again, winning the match and the two week competition.

Well done to Alana, Amelia, Georgie, Iluka, Jasmine, Matilda, Milla, Olivia and Penny in the Reds and to Abby, Anahera, Aurelia, Charli, Evie, Jaya, Rosie for the Blues  and many thanks to Tess for her support.

Thanks also to the referee and equipment helpers.

All are looking forward to Saturday 19th when the final game of the season will be played on the bottom oval. Please be there at 9:30 a.m.

Final training session is on Friday at 4:00 p.m. All training balls are to be returned then or on Saturday.

Good luck to Panther teams still playing finals and grandfinals and many thanks to the Panther Club officials for their work in this 2020 season.

U9 White Round 11 Match Report

It was a beautiful sunny morning up at Lighthouse for the boy’s final match game for the season against St Georges Basin.

Team captain Tom took the toss to start the game.

Lachlan was in goals for the 1st half of the game with some great saves.

There was some great footwork and passing by all the Panthers team which lead to a pretty impressive 5 – 0 score in the first half.

The opening goal was scored by Raff, followed by Sebastian scoring 3 goals in a row with an impressive goal scored from a corner with great footwork.

The last goal scored in the first half was by Tom, kicking the ball through the legs of the opposition with a penalty kick.

Second half was just as impressive with Xavier in goals making the opposition fight hard to get their team on the board.

All the boys played a great game keeping in their positions and passing to each other, and some awesome defence play by Ryan and Mason keeping the opposition in line.

The first 2 goals scored for the second half was by Jack, straight through the legs of the opposition straight into the goals.

Then it was Lachlan’s turn to score followed by Milo with awesome footwork.

The final 3 goals were scored by Saxon with great passing from his team mates to make the final score for the game 12 – 1.

As a parent on the sideline each week I couldn’t be prouder of how much the boys have come along as a team, with thanks to Jon and Damien coaching the boys each week.  They are very lucky to have such a great coach.

Also thank you to Mark who referees each game as well as help the boys on the field.

Looking forward to another fantastic season next year.

U11A Preliminary Final Match Report

It was a beautiful sunny day at south Nowra when the under 11A Panthers took on Huskisson in the semi finals. The Panthers started strong and had some good shots at goal. Huskisson scored first with a good one on one shot against the Panthers keeper. The first half went end to end with both teams playing hard. Huskisson went into the half time break 1-0 up. The Panthers fought hard all game but Huskisson was too good on the day and scored a second goal midway through the second half. It was a tough match but the Panthers played exceptionally well and showed great sportsmanship. A huge thank you to coach Paul, manager Kelly, all of the parents for their support and the wonderful team for their passion and enthusiasm. Go Panthers!
