The start of the year was nothing like our area has ever seen before. Everyone that lives in our little slice of paradise knows someone who was affected in some way by the Currowan Bushfire. As a cummunity sporting group we were thinking of ways we could help and so jumped at the chance to do so when a representative from Forest Rangers FC contacted us with an idea.
The Forest Rangers will be coming to town to play trial matches against us, the Milton Ulladulla Football Club, on the weekend of March 7th and 8th. The aim to support the local community by enjoying a nice weekend of food, football and fun for the kids. Based on the ‘bring an empty esky’ campaign the idea is that 6 to 10 teams from the club (from Under 6’s to Over 35’s) come and spend money on food, drink, accommodation, fuel etc, play in the trials and spend the weekend to help our beautiful area.
The plan for the weekend is as follows:
Saturday morning and afternoon:
FRFC to arrive at Lighthouse Oval around 10.30am for BBQ lunch and trial games.
Saturday Night:
Dinner and kids disco at Ulladulla Ex-Serviceman’s Club. During the night the raffle prizes will be drawn with all proceeds to go to the people that need help and our local RFS brigades.
We would really love to get as many club members involved in this as possible. Keep an eye out on here in the News section and our Facebook page for coming updates on this weekend event. Coaches will be informed soon and we will only play teams who have enough registered players to field a team, as this is a requirement from Football NSW.
We can’t wait for you to join us.
